Now, from the info given out by CCP it is known that a vast majority of players are based in high security space, these people could easaly out vote any and all alliances, what the people of hisec dont have is the unity of an alliance to single mindedly vote in one direction.
Actual split of accounts is close to 50-50, a few percentage points in favor of Hi-sec. You are simply being blinded because you are unable to distinguish between 'characters' and accounts.
Also 0.0 player-age, subscription length and likelihood to continue playing this game for years is far higher than hi-sec dwellers.
So no. You don't need a voice. ____

The figure was actually around 80% of high-sec players as far as I remember.
Thanks for already proving part of my point quite quickly there. Come back when you can figure out the difference between the location of characters and of accounts. What with there being an average of 2x characters per account. Or you can go read this for when you give up. Its built upon some assumptions, but I guarantee it gives a picture far closer to reality than 'characters = players = everyone and their mother lives in hi-sec'
Quote: As for the rest of your bull, look at my account age. 2003. And I don't go to lowsec and 0.0, and understand the game mechanics perfectly. I just think PVP is boring and killing other players for loot is selfish.
Yes there is indeed a small selection of people who stick around in hi-sec for an extreme amount of time. You are the tiny minority. As far as your understanding of the mechanics... frankly I think it is impossible for a hi-sec dweller to have a solid grasp of the many levels of this games mechanics. You don't experience enough of the games content to understand it. You may not pvp because you find it boring, but as a result you will have almost no real knowledge or understanding of it. You will have almost no real understanding of the modern POS situations with regards to major industry, or sovereignty mechanics etc... You may be able to pay attention to the forum whines, but listening to the *****ing on the forum ≠ understanding.
But as Spenz rightly points out it is the perspective, more than mechanics knowledge, that needs to be represented. I don't value the hi-sec only perspective and don't wish to see it on the council. I feel its concerns and issues can be properly represented by those people who live in 0.0 because frankly they also have a great deal of experience with hi-sec whereas the life-long hi-sec dwellers have precious little experience with 0.0 ____

Nah I feel that taking the time to correct the mis-guided notion in the OP that hi-sec contains the vast majority of the player population is a worthwhile contribution ____

Not really, the industrial basis of all T2 production is 0.0.
But then that goes into a whole different argument and discussion about who really profits from 0.0, and by how much. ____

No its not. 0.0 is the whole point of it. You trade for fun and isk.
0.0 alts are trading for fun and isk to fund 0.0 activity where they get even more fun. For them they're making more of a personal profit spending their isks on pew pew than if they build up more iskies via more trading.
Quote: And the argument of who really profits from 0.0 and by how much is pretty relevant to discussing who's in the Player Council, don't you think?
The alliance leadership raking in billions from moon mining and off the backs of their knuckleheaded rank and file having CCP's ear, how convenient.
Are we still playing an internet spaceship game or engaging in RL isk-for-cash mafia?
Tinfoil much? ____

Just think of it as one more level of playing the game. ____
